LTC / Life Hybrid Update Dec 16, 2019
As we know, beginning January 1, 2020, any new life insurance policy issued will need to adhere to the 2017 Commissioners Standard Ordinary (CSO) Table, which is a new mortality table used in product pricing, as well as Principle-Based Reserving (PBR), which is a new way of calculating reserves to pay future claims. The effect of this on the life insurance market, and more specifically to the LTC/Life Hybrid market, was an onslaught of newly priced/remodeled products.
